How do you go about focusing on Christ as your Savior? Christ is our example, our brother, our Lord, our guide, intercessor…. but what about Savior? Focusing on Jesus as Savior will increase your love and devotion for Him.
Here are a few verses that point us towards Christ and all He has done for us in saving
us. Romans 5:8 “ but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God so loved us, even as sinners, that he sent Jesus to redeem and save us through His death on the cross. Imagine a love that great as to sacrifice your son for you and me! 1 Peter 2:24-25 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” Christ died on the cross so that we might live wholly, complete and be presented blameless before God.
He willingly gave Himself to save us! He healed us in His death from our sin and unrighteousness. Now instead of wandering in a world of sin, we are kept and looked after by the great Shepherd who looks out for our souls. What a wonderful picture of our loving God and Savior.
Today as you meditate on Christ, your Savior, think about all He has done for you personally. Where would you be today without your Savior? What would your future be like? We, as believers, have much to be thankful for in having a wonderful Savior in Jesus the Christ.

Ponder how you can think more like Jesus. Delve into God’s Word and try to soak it up into your very being. Endeavor to practice Biblical thinking this week and see if you are not wiser and led into sin less as you look to His Word as your guide.
is a familiar verse that gets right to the heart of God.
When you say ‘thank you’ today for a Valentine gift you receive, a card, note, flowers or someone simply saying ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’, think about thanking God too. Thank Him for sending Jesus.
way with a rebellious, willful nature built inside. It was not something they learned. However, as we grow we learn to sin even more by fulfilling our own desires. Adam and Eve fulfilled their own desires in the garden of Eden when they willfully sinned against God by eating of the forbidden tree, the tree of good and evil.
repentant heart asking Him to forgive us through faith in Jesus Christ. Our faith in Jesus allows us to be cleansed and made whole. However, we still have that sin nature within us and we need to grow and learn about Jesus, depend upon Him and stay repentant to walk with Him by faith. Our heart’s desire is to walk with Jesus and grow more and more like him. Sanctification describes this process in our lives and it is the work of the Holy Spirit within us that enables us to grow stronger in Christ and sin less.

The third practical way to experience love and commitment to God is to PRAY. The Bible is filled with people talking, communing, listening and responding to God in prayer. Isaac prayed for his wife Rebekah to conceive as she was barren, Hannah prayed rejoicing as God gave her a son to love, David prayed for protection and guidance as he fled from Saul, Solomon prayed for wisdom to rule the people, Nehemiah prayed for the restoration of Jerusalem, Jonah prayed from the belly of the fish, Jesus prayed many times to commune with His father while here on Earth, the Apostles prayed for guidance in presenting the gospel and encouraged all believer to pray constantly. These are just a few examples of the who, when and why people prayed.

Today is deemed Martin Luther King Day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who stood for rightness in the fight for freedom and equality for all men. He was very eloquent in speech and inspired many with his life and his fight against oppression. He challenges the generations to dream of equality and reach for it. Where do you have unrealized dreams today? Are you actively pursuing them, keeping them in focus and grabbing onto opportunities to make them happen?
