Are you taking hold of the life that is truly life?

As I was writing Bible Study discussion questions this morning to go with my book Promises for Dynamic Living, I was meditating on Matthew 6:19-21.    “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”    I was thinking about what I value in life and how that is reflected in my life.  I thought about my own heart attitudes towards God and questioned what in my life reflects godly purpose.   As I continued to meditate, I looked up the related verses.  1Timothy 6:19 stood out to me.  “In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”  How am I storing up treasures that God has for me from His Word so I have a firm foundation?  How am I taking hold of the life that is truly life?    Am I sold out for God, working and thinking about how to serve Him each day or am I just trying to serve myself then God?   Is the life I am living- truly living for God?

Reflecting on our purpose, attitudes and actions in life are necessary to grasp who we are and where we want to be going with our life.  A life lead by God, striving to accomplish His purposes for our life is a true life.   Are you taking hold of that life for yourself?   Meditate on these verses, pray and seek God’s guidance.   He will reveal His pathway and direction for your life and give you peace in and through the process!

pathwayBlessings as you meditate and pray for godly direction,
